Our firsthand experience
taught us a lesson about how essential it is
to systematically organize and document any collection, "as eclectic as it dare
be".
Documenting Collections
can step in with a simple solution for both the art/collectibles enthusiast and
the working artist. There is no need for sophisticated and costly collection
management software and databases to keep a collection in order. We take an uncomplicated methodical approach to creating a record of the objects in a format
which can be easily worked with and updated, following principles
established by institutions with a long history of collection holdings.
Documenting Collections will bring together all the contents of your file cabinets, storage boxes, and library in one practical catalog in both printed and digitized versions, accompanied by photo-documentation. The catalog will be created with a program that runs on Windows and Macintosh, according to the clients' needs and resources.
The design of a customized documenting method for any collection and
holding of artwork
is our objective.
The pleasure of working with treasured objects on behalf of
established and emerging collectors and artists
is our satisfaction.

The process of documenting and digitizing is
an organic part
of caring for one's treasures!
Many
of us collect or become owners of: anything from fine and decorative art, to
antiques or contemporary works; collectibles of one type or another.
We
might have albums with stamps, vitrines displaying minerals and fossils. We might
be passionate about Josh Simpson’s planets, or feel we cannot live without
adding to our incomplete set of Victorian silverware. We inherit art-nouveau jewelry
or trade our vintage Mustang for elegant 1960 Bentley. We frequent local and
internet auctions for Audubon prints and occasionally stop by the tiny antique
shop down the road to check its inventory of Hummel figures. We decorate our
homes with contemporary art discovered at local galleries. Our passions can be
as exotic as our dreams. The beauty of craftsmanship, the patina of time, the
artist’s talent or the novelty of an object – all may have deep personal
meaning and fulfill our aesthetic, educational, moral, religious, political and
social preferences.
Proper care and maintenance of any family
heirlooms and works of art will more than pay for itself. Keeping records and
digitizing ones' treasures is an organic part of caring for them, and ensures
that they will be available for future generations to enjoy.
